I am highly interested in the appearance of movement and rhythm on flat surfaces. This sensations appear when mixed thickness of yarn are used in weaving. They come with shifts in direction of the weft and with distortion of geometric shapes. Rhythm rises across colored threads, in between the perception of volume and depth. Rhythm is the perceptible repetition of movements inside a weave.
When I translate the language of geometrical rhythm and movement to the horizontal surface of a carpet, it changes visual perception of spaces, it changes how we walk and experience spaces.
