Pillow talk

LaCambre, Textile Design

These strips are woven industrially, the pattern of each band is random and decided by the knitting machine. This process involves letting the machine decide the rhythm of each line in the pattern. Through this operation, a product of industrial production which is normally identical and mass produced, turns a unique product. The machine becomes the most important part in the act of creation.

Each band is a unity which can be use to create different surfaces. The possibility of use depends on the size and quantity of strips. In this case I made the double-sided octopus pillows.

Pillows, 50% merinos wool, 50% cotton, 55 x 80cm
